During the week of Thanksgiving, we took a nine day road trip to Oklahoma and back to spend our daughter’s first holiday away from the family with her. We traveled through northern Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and back again the southern route. Aside from the fabulously maintained roads, garbage and homeless free streets, and $2.10 gas, our biggest take away from being outside of California for that long was the lack of quality produce available anywhere.
Today marked five years since I completed my Bachelor’s Degree. That was just about one year before leaving the career I felt like I needed that degree for so that I could milk cows.
It’s the feeling you get when you stand on the deck of the Space Needle. You can practically see the whole world out in front of you, but if you give the heights and fear power, if you look down, insecurity will consume you.
Tonight at dinner my daughter told me that she had explained to someone, “the thing you don’t understand about my mom is that if her appendix burst and she had to have surgery, she wouldn’t sit still for more than five minutes after she was released from the hospital.”
